University of Basrah Organizes Seminar on the Importance of Discipline in Enhancing Academic Achievement

The College of Administration and Economics, through its Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Economics and the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra, organized a seminar entitled "The Importance of Discipline in Enhancing Academic Achievement."

The seminar aimed to introduce students at all academic levels to the concepts of discipline and academic achievement, and to explain the relationship between them.

The seminar, presented by lecturer Raed Abdul Fahd, highlighted the importance of students adhering to behavioral rules and standards as an indicator of their awareness and high level of discipline. This has positive effects on improving academic performance and is reflected in the grades and assessments they achieve in various courses.

The seminar recommended focusing on building self-discipline, directing efforts toward developing self-monitoring, strengthening the partnership between families and educational institutions, and adopting motivational rather than punitive methods.
