University of Basrah Organizes a Seminar on External Auditing

The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah organized a seminar on external auditing: observations and conclusions from the field.

The seminar aimed to highlight the current state of external auditing and the challenges it faces, and to explain its relationship to internal auditing and its role in enhancing the efficiency of accounting and oversight processes.

The seminar, presented by Dr. Hashim Ali Hashim, Dr. Ali Taha Yassin, Dr. Mithaq Hashim Ali, and Mr. Mohsen Al-Hawi, addressed the relationship between internal and external auditing, the role of auditing in the public and private sectors, and the importance of efficient internal auditing in facilitating external auditing. It also highlighted challenges in the public sector due to inflated spending, and in the private sector due to weak accounting compliance.

The seminar recommended strengthening the role of internal auditing and developing scientific and practical training to improve the efficiency of financial and administrative performance.
