UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AWARENESS SEMINAR ON THE PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND THE LEGAL PROTECTION OF VICTIMS
The College of Administration and Economics, through its Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized an awareness seminar entitled "The Psychological Effects of Human Trafficking and the Legal Protection of Victims: A Psychological and Legal Study."
The seminar aimed to raise societal and legal awareness among students, familiarize them with risk indicators and methods of avoiding exploitation, and provide support to victims, while highlighting the integration between psychologists and legal professionals.
The seminar, presented by Dr. Hanaa Abdul Nabi Kaban and Dr. Abdul Ali Hamid Abdul Ali, addressed the psychological and legal aspects of the phenomenon, mechanisms for controlling and distinguishing it from migrant smuggling, and the rights of victims.
The seminar recommended strengthening academic awareness, cooperating with civil society organizations, and providing rehabilitation and support programs for victims.
